Case studies
Offering your customers the chance to put their purchases on plastic can have significant benefits for your business, including increased profits, greater average spend, higher customer satisfaction and less time-consuming paperwork.
This case study shows how accepting card payments through Barclaycard Business has helped a medium sized mail order business Seton Ltd.
Seton Ltd case study
"We are a mail order company which sells a variety of products, from fire equipment to door locks and alarms, to make the workplace safe and secure. We supply products to a large number of businesses and two years ago Seton was approached by a couple of our key customers to start accepting payment with Purchasing Cards.
As a mail order company we have a lot of paperwork generated through order forms and invoices, and a system to reduce this could only be a good thing.
Barclaycard Business installed a PDQ terminal, an ideal system for our business as the customer is not present when the purchase is made. The PDQ terminal means we gain immediate authorisation and payment into our account within three to four days which has reduced the cost of late payments.
The other main benefit we have noticed is the improved customer service we can provide. Customers do not have to spend time dealing with invoices and we can also provide them with VAT reports, via the PDQ terminal, thereby further reducing the amount of time they have to spend on paperwork.
"It has helped Seton to become a preferred supplier but we would obviously like more of our customers to start using Purchasing Cards as it makes life easier for them and us!"
