OneTouch. Two wins.

We’re pleased to announce that our innovative OneTouch™ technology scooped two prizes at The Card Awards 2008.

These industry awards recognise excellence and best practice in the card payment industry so we are delighted to have won Best Industry Innovation of the Year and Best Technology Initiative of the Year.

Over 1,300 industry leaders attended the awards ceremony held at The Grosvenor House in London on Thursday 31st January 2008 and witnessed our wins.

Our groundbreaking OneTouch™ technology allows items of £10 and under to be securely paid for in less than a second by simply touching a card to a reader. The Barclaycard OnePulse card – a unique contactless three-in-one card combining an Oyster card from Transport for London, a credit card and cashless OneTouch™ payments – was introduced to support its launch.

OneTouch™ is already available in over 3,000 retailer outlets and consumers are using contactless cards for low value transactions, improving retailers’ transactional efficiency, as well as giving customers a quicker, more secure and more convenient way to pay than cash.
